I've only just found out about Pete's sad passing yesterday. I met Pete at the UNIMAKER conference last year, and he was so enthusiastic about makerspaces that we invited him to help us plan this year's conference. He became a valued part of our steering committee, and it was fantastic to read his report on what he had been inspired to set up at Herts since last year. He was obviously much loved by students and colleagues, and when I got the opportunity to sit down with him I was fascinated to hear his stories of the model making he had been involved with.
