In every interaction with Pete his friendliness, helpfulness and sense of humour whatever the circumstances shone through. In particular, Pete encouraged me to apply, and then helped me get approved, to be sent on a guitar setup course as part of the Technician Commitment programme. As part of the same initiative he went and did a training course in Iron Age metalworking techniques, and from that point onwards whenever I popped into his office to borrow a tool or ask for some advice, he’d show me his latest axehead, knife or letter opener, and we’d have a chuckle about something or other. Pete will be sorely missed by everyone here.
